Join the Movement for Fine Arts Education!
Are you passionate about keeping music, art, theater, and dance in our schools? So are we!
But did you know Texas schools don’t receive dedicated funding for these essential programs? We came close to getting a new fine arts allotment during the 89th Legislative Session but fell short in the last days.
We learned two major lessons during this session:
#1- Our legislators still view fine arts education as "nice to have" not necessary to build the skills needed for success in any career.
#2- We do not have a large enough coalition to compete with all of the other initiatives competing for education funding.
Parents for Arts Education is continuing to fight to change that perception in our local school districts and before the next session in 2027. But we need your voice! We need everyone who is not already connected to an arts teacher or industry organization to join Parents for Arts Education or Students for Arts Education. You don't have to be a parent - just someone who believes these courses are important.
Why Join Us?
Make a Difference – Help us advocate at a local level by connecting with preK and elementary parents about the importance of including these courses in their MS and HS planning.
Support Teachers – Ensure they have the support and tools they need from administration to inspire creativity.
Build Community – Connect with other parents and supporters who care about arts education to support all of the fine arts showings and performances in your area.
Join our email list today at www.paetx.org and look for ways you can help us spread this message!

Adding your support strengthens our voice and helps us make a bigger impact. The more voices, the louder the message!
