Speak Up. Show Up.

Stand Up for Arts Education

Fine arts education doesn’t disappear overnight—it fades when voices go silent.

Your voice, your time, or your gift can make the difference.

Whether you have arts experience or not, speak up and show up.

  • Talk about the human skills needed in today's workplace.

  • Contribute to The Human Skills Advantage™ Data Project

  • Add your arts experience on your work profiles and social media

  • Build the movement by sharing the hashtag #FineArtsBuildsHumanSkills and put a sticker on your water bottle, computer, etc.

  • Support your local school arts programs by attending performances and supporting fundraisers

Support PAE

  • Donate to help us produce materials, educate parents, train local advocates, and expand student leadership across Texas and the rest of the country.

  • Contribute to The Human Skills Advantage™ Data Project

  • Volunteer to bring awareness to your school, PTA, or community using our ready-to-use advocacy tools.

  • Advocate by sharing our message and our resources, recruiting others, tagging @parentsforartsed and #fineartsbuildshumanskills on all of your social media posts — all to help change the narrative around fine arts education.

We need to share our experiences

Our personal stories are just as powerful as the data. Parents, students, and especially alumni are the most credible advocates for arts education because our message doesn't carry the perceived bias of self-interest that teachers may face. By sharing our important stories alongside facts, we can demonstrate that fine arts are essential, not expendable, even as school budgets tighten.

By unifying as one voice for all of the arts we capitalize on strength in numbers.

In a world of uncertain jobs, we must advocate for well-rounded education that includes music, dance, theater, and art. By uniting all fine arts under PAE and SAE, we can amplify our voice and work together to secure a strong future for these programs.

PAE can provide the marketing materials, data and resources, but in order to make a real difference we need coordinated local grass-roots efforts. Reach out to fellow parents and students, both current and former, put on PAE/SAE buttons and advocate together!

Help us move the visual and performing arts courses from "nice to have" to essential for every student in today's economy
