The Human Skills Advantage™ Data Project
Over the last year, we’ve been asked one recurring question:
"How can you prove these classes build the human skills needed for success?"
While data exists for test scores and graduation rates, human skills are harder to quantify. They can’t be graded by a computer (which also means they can't be replaced by one!). We know these skills are essential, and we believe arts education must be funded as a core pillar of a well-rounded life.
Our Mission
Advocacy doesn’t start with policy; it starts with lived experience. We are gathering real stories from students and parents—past and present—to show exactly how the fine arts build the skills that last a lifetime.
How You Can Participate
Participation is simple, but the collective impact is powerful. Here are two ways to help:
1. Share Your Story
Head over to our Share Your Story #becauseoffinearts form to tell us how the arts changed your trajectory.
2. Create a "One Word" Lobby Board
This is a great project for students! Set up a poster board at your next event and ask parents and students for one word that describes what they gained through arts education.
-
Step 1: Download & Print the Header to place at the top of your board.
-
Step 2: Follow our Project Guidelines for the best results.
-
Step 3: Snap a high-quality photo of the finished board.
-
Step 4: Email the photo to us for documentation and tag Parents for Arts Education and Students for Arts Education on social media!
Together, we can turn personal experiences into undeniable proof. Let’s make a difference.
